In many parts of the world, the patient care needs are tremendous, and facilities such as hospitals and clinics are often overcrowded, seeing a very large number of patients daily. Dr. Walter Lee experienced this issue over and over in his global health work based in Vietnam and saw that this could be used as an advantage. In collaboration with his Vietnamese counterparts and partners at four hospitals in Hanoi, he led a team to collect nearly 1000 PROMIS quality of life surveys over 72 hours!
This was facilitated by a REDCap database and tablets for data collection. Analysis of the data is ongoing and the team hopes to identify key needs and ways to better deliver healthcare in these facilities.
